Steel Magnolias
Steel Magnolias tells the story of six women who live in the small town of Louisiana.
Their lives all interconnect in a beauty parlor owned by Truvy Jones. M'Lynn Eatenton, the mother of headstrong Shelby, is worried about her daughter's up and coming marriage. She fears for her daughter's life and the children that diabetic Shelby is determined to have. Clairee, an aristocratic widow, Ouiser the irascible town gossip, Annelle, Truvy's young assistant, along with the others, all have a variety of problems that they share together. The beauty parlor is the meeting place where they all congregate regularly to complain about their menfolk and the world in general.
Shelby does indeed get married and has her baby, but just when things start to look rosy, tragedy rears its head !
