Our Productions

We began producing plays in 2003 after offering English-language workshops for three seasons. Our first full-length play in 2003 was the well-known American story "Steel Magnolias" (currently being revived on Broadway) which is a 2 hour production, on one set with six characters (including three actresses who were acting for the first time.) We did two performances and on our second night we had standing room only.
The following year, 2004, we did a series of vignettes which was entitled "An Evening of Theater in English." These were a mixture of drama and comedy with the final number requiring all of us to do a tap-dance which we learned especially for the show. Our audiences loved it.
For 2005 we adapted our "8 Women and A Murder" script from the popular French film "8 Women." The story is set in a country house during the winter where each of the 8 characters have a motive and an opportunity to commit the murder of the husband and father. Over the two hours of the story, which we divided into a two act play, each character's secret is told and each character has a song and dance. We created a single set that worked for the script, found songs that fit the story line in English, including one for which we rewrote the lyrics. We choreographed the original dances and fist fights. We organized the costumes, props (including breakaway glass bottles from Shepperton Film Studios), decorated and painted the set, created a website, designed our logo, printed the tickets, programs, flyers, etc. We also rigged a live video feed to a backstage monitor so we could time perfectly our stage entrances and exits. We succeeded in bringing a very high production level to the show. Our audiences raved.
