The Island in Question

The Mediterranean is full of islands and rocks and reefs. What could be better than to find water and build a house on an island where nobody has ever lived? Holiday-makers will thank you and local inhabitants will enjoy seeing new faces and having new customers in their shops and cafes. Or will they?

The villas are being constructed on an island which was a bare rock for centuries before being appropriated for a military base. Although the developers are incomers, the village is waiting with interest to see what changes the new venture will bring. This is all the more important because the village and the island have fallen under the shadow of a mystery no-one can explain. As work on the villas proceeds, more and more ominous events occur. Incomers and islanders alike are swept up in a vortex of fear and misunderstanding.

'The Island in Question' tells a story full of surprises - and the performance by English Theater Torino piles surprises on top of that. If you have enjoyed the group's work so far, this is the play for you. If you are new to ETT ask for a seat with a safety belt.
